District 3 Meeting scheduled for Monday 8/20/18, 6:00 p.m., Gilliard Elementary School
August 20, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm CDT
City of Mobile District 3 Meeting is scheduled for Monday 8/20/18, 6:00 p.m. at Gilliard Elementary School.
An excerpt of District 3 Councilman C.J. Small’s August 2018 Newsletter reads:
Our District 3
Community Meeting will take place on Monday, August 20th, 6:00 p.m., at Gilliard Elementary School. I’ve invited Mayor Stimpson to talk about District 3 and City issues. Mr. Chris Curry, Executive Director of the Mobile Airport, has also been invited to discuss the possible relocation of the airport. If there are any particular City issues you would like to be addressed at this meeting, please contact my office by Friday, August 10th.
All of us hear our neighbors complain about ‘this’ and ‘that’ in our community. And it seems as though no one is doing anything about it. But when you stop and think about it, have any one of those neighbors gotten involved in actually doing something to fix ‘this’ and ‘that’?
Community meetings such as this one should be standing room only events.
They should be filled with neighbors who want answers and are willing to ask, learn, and do something to change ‘this’ and ‘that’.
Do yourself and your complaining neighbors a favor and let them know about this meeting, so they can start taking action on fixing whatever they are complaining about.
If you too decide to become involved with improving the DIP Peninsula Community and have specific concerns, email C.J. Small no later than 8/10/2018 to voice your concerns. That will allow Mr. Small enough time to prepare his answers for the Community Meeting.
In addition to the City Government, the 36605 D.I.P. Peninsula is fortunate to have several community action groups working towards improving our community. One of those groups’ efforts has spanned 30 years. Another group has recently begun to take action.
Quite a bit of work has already been accomplished. More improvements are about to start. And some are continuing to be a work-in-progress.
Get involved! Either join up with a community action group, or make a difference all by yourself, but either way… Take Action!
